Mandatory Volunteering Requirements

 

Volunteer Bond Structure

To support accountability and encourage fulfillment of volunteer commitments, the following bond amounts will apply: 

• Half Season Bond: $250

• Full Season Bond: $350

As part of registration, families are required to provide a valid credit card for the volunteer commitment bond. No charge will be applied if the family's volunteer commitments are fulfilled during the season. At the end of the season, the credit card on file will only be charged if the required volunteer commitments have not been completed.

 

Volunteer Requirements: Please note that final volunteer requirements will be determined based on the number of registered families and the number of events scheduled.

CanSkate – Fall Session
Families will be required to participate in one club fundraiser (details to be determined).
This approach reflects the shorter duration and lower overall time commitment of the fall session.
STARSkate families will also be offered opportunities to participate in this fundraising initiative on a voluntary basis; however, these will not count toward required volunteer credits.

CanSkate – Winter Session
Families will be required to complete up to 4 hours of volunteering at either:

• FunSkate
• Carnival (or showcase equivalent)
• Or an approved equivalent activity

CanSkate Full season, CanPlus, and STARSkate Families
Families will be required to complete up to 8 hours of volunteering at either:

• FunSkate
• Carnival (or showcase equivalent)
• Or an approved equivalent activity
